Family with children will love this unique getaway
The small kitchen in our caboose was so handy for whipping up late-night snacks after a long day. Plus, we got to sit on the deck and watch the trains go by, it felt like a scene out of a movie or something.
It wasn't exactly budget-friendly but considering the experience it was worth it.

Our family had a fantastic stay! We explored the Scalplock Lookout Trail, enjoying the stunning views of Glacier’s mountains. The kids loved the big open space to play and relax. The cabin was cozy, and the staff were really friendly, making us feel at home.
My kids wished there were more activities for them. An indoor play area or pool would be great for families, especially during downtime.

Memorable Escape with Stunning Views
Our stay was fabulous! The views are breathtaking, and the local dining options exceeded our expectations. We loved the train decor and enjoyed the Elk Meatballs for dinner. Pro tip, bring your own snacks as there's no fridge in the room!

will be returning here soon
Loved our stay in the queen room! It was like an upscale REI with a microwave and refrigerator. The new sauna was a nice touch. The bar and game room were super fun. Great food at the restaurant, especially enjoyed the huckleberry pancakes. Perfect basecamp for Glacier National Park!

good stay but minor adjustments needed
The staff helped us plan our activities around the national park which made our trip effortless. The queen room offered a cozy atmosphere that added comfort to our evenings. The restaurant presented a unique menu that surprised us with its creativity.
There were minor issues with maintenance that detracted from the overall experience.

Just an excellent fit for shopping in Essex with good value considering price it charged. I enjoyed the elk meatballs and salmon for dinner, which were great! A tip would be to ask about the jacuzzi across the parking lot.

missingWrote a review on Aug 12unique memorabiliacozy lobbytrain watchingpoor signage
Unique railroad memorabilia creates a quirky, museum-like atmosphere throughout the hotel. The cozy lobby provides a great gathering spot to chill out or enjoy watching trains pass by from the lawn or patio.
Finding the hotel proved to be quite the headache, with poor signage leading me in circles and even to some houses. The hot tub was shut down during my visit despite it being advertised as an amenity, and the fireplace was also not operational. The Wi-Fi really dragged, feeling more like a dial-up connection than something from this century. At night, noise from the nearby train tracks could be bothersome if you're light on sleep, though that didn't much bother me, thanks to trusty earplugs.
